“Like most contemporary artists I work in a variety of mediums – oil, watercolor and gouache, digital, photography and video.  The changing technical landscape often informs the process, but the traditional rules of composition, perspective, anatomy and scale are at the core. It’s astounding that old master painters like Caravaggio, Ingres, Vermeer, Rembrandt and David, had taken these elements to perfection as early as the 16th – 18th centuries.  We artists today, for all our technological advances and gadgets, are still struggling to catch up.”  Risa Korris
